the process behind editing

Hey guys. Welcome back to Ary's blog. Today we will be blogging about editing. Since we completed our filming process, we are able to start editing now. The sizes of the clips are a little lengthy, so it is taking a while to transfer the videos to our editor, Lyne. Our group has decided the best editing platform to use is CapCut. We all used that app for our commercials. CapCut is an editing app that is very popular on apps like TikTok. There are other apps like VideoStar and After Effects that are better, but they cost money. The app is sleek and easy to use. The format of the app makes everything easy to find. The app is easily accessible. As we have done the math we are able to tell that our music video should be within the permitted length. Our music video is around a minute and eleven seconds long. We want to be able to edit easily and quickly. I'm not sure how long the editing process will take, but I hope our editor Lyne will be able to get the job done quickly. I also hope our clips align with the pace of the music. I am excited to see the final product of our video. Once it is finished being edited we will upload it to youtube!

Filming updates

Hey bloggers! Welcome back to one of Ary's blogs. Today's blog is yet again about filming. For our filming process, my group had to come together on one day to film. Unfortunately, we had multiple shots where all four of us were featured. We had to find a solution to be able to film all four of us. Thankfully, my group member Camila was able to get her sister to come along with us to film us.

We had some issues with the lighting because we were outdoors. We continuously had to pause to adjust the lighting or wait for the weather to become overcast. However, our filming process was not as long as expected. We expected the project to take up our entire day but we were done in about three to four hours. We have many bloopers for our video that we were able to look over and laugh at.

Some struggles we encountered while filming included multiple retakes. There were multiple instances where we had to redo the clip because we laughed or background issues. But we had so much fun creating this project which made the video so much more enjoyable.

I feel that in order for the music video to be truly entertaining, you have to see that there was true effort put into the project and that it was an enjoyable experience. I undeniably enjoyed my experience filming. I look forward to more projects that are similar to this. Part of the reason I took this class in the first place was to be able to do filming and editing projects. I cant wait to edit my video!

About filming..

Hey bloggers! Welcome back to Ary's world. We have another blog here today. My group has decided to use the song Infrunami by Steve Lacy. Our group filmed at the Hugh Birch state park in Fort Lauderdale. We bought our props like cake, snacks, a blanket and more prior to the recording. We were able to all agree on a day to film. We filmed on Tuesday the 24th of October, 2023. We arrived to the park at 1pm. We set up our set which took around 30 minutes. We had our group members little sister begin to film us. We ended up filming for around 4 to 5 hours. Filming took a long time considering how we had to do multiple takes of our clips. Whether it was other people interrupting the shot, or weird noises or the weather. We ended up making a huge mess towards the end of the filming. One of our scenes required throwing a cake at another student. We had to prepare, because we only had one chance to get the shot correctly. After we threw the cake, we ended up making a huge mess because the cake splattered everywhere. After cleaning up, we were able to pack up everything and finish filming. We will begin our editing process soon.

Let me update you guys!

Hey bloggers! Welcome back to Ary’s blog. As you know, we’ve been working on our music video. My group members are Katherine, Camila and Lyne. We plan to do Infrunami by Steve Lacy. However, we have to use our backup plan. Unfortunately we aren’t able to film on the same day as we planned due to an issue with transportation. On the brighter side, we did complete our shopping list for items. We need to purchase our blanket, the ingredients for the cake, flowers and more decorations. We most likely will purchase the decorations from a local store that won’t be too costly. As for the ingredients, we need to be mindful of allergies within the group. Katherine has an allergy to eggs, so we will attempt to make an egg free cake. The good news is we plan to film at the same park. Thankfully our plan has not changed much. There are obviously complications that come with having a larger group. However, I am grateful for my group and appreciate the work we have all done together to create this music video. This is also our first music video editing and filming project. We are all excited to create this, but our filming process will most likely be a little rough. As for now, I am excited to create this music video. Bye bloggers!

music video production blog

Hey guys! Welcome back to Ary's world. This time, I am doing a blog about my experience making a music video. Our newest project happens to be recording a makeshift music video. The song me and my friends have chosen is Infrunami by Steve Lacy. We have decided to make our music video surrounding a picnic. One of my group members, Katherine, completed the storyboard. The storyline surrounds a happy group of friends enjoying an autumn evening in the park. They play around and smile as they have a picnic. We will need props such as cake, blankets, a basket and more. We want around twelve scenes and we are still deciding when to film. Personal issues have arose and now we are not all available on the same days to film our project. We plan to bake our cake on the same day of our filming. We will also buy our props on our filming day. Then we will set up at the park location we chose and begin blocking. After blocking our moves, we will begin to record. Through trial and error I believe it will not take that long to record our video due to the small time frame we are allotted. After filming, we will start to edit and tweak anything we don't like. Then, we will place the clips together and add transitions. We will most likely do this through capcut. Our group has mutually agreed to use the editing app capcut since we all had an enjoyable process editing our commercials on the app. I hope our plan no longer changes and makes the process harder.

Group Blog

Hey bloggers! Welcome back to Ary's world. In this blog, I am going to be discussing my group for our next project. I am excited to be making a commercial, but every project needs a crew. I have decided to pick a group of three to aid me in this project. A reason I believe I will do well in this group is my creativity. I also have prior knowledge about cameras due to my experience in musical theatre. I have previously worked in front of and behind a camera which I think will aid my group. I will be able to help film our video with a variety of shots and angles. I have picked my friend Katherine. Katherine is an excellent artist which will be great for the commercial for our storyboard. Another person in my group that I have picked is my friend Camila. Camila is very musically talented which I believe suits this project considering it is a MUSIC video. Camila is great with recognizing beats and melodies that will go perfectly with our commercial. Our group has all decided we want a song that pairs well with our personalities and entertaining. I believe Camila will be able to help us choose a song that illustrates what we want our video to be like. The next person I have chosen in my group is Lyne. Lyne is very motivated and smart. Lyne is also talented with editing. I believe she will be able to help us stay on track and plan when to film our video and where. Lyne will also be able to help with editing our shots together. Overall, my group members are all equally talented and I cannot wait for our commercial.

Intro Blog

Hey, my name is Aryanna Morrobel. I was born in October of 2007, and I am 15 years old. I was born in the United States and have moved around a few times. Some things that make me who I am are the things I like. My favorite time of day is the sunset, specifically at the beach. I've always loved the beach, the smell of the ocean and laying in the sand. I love taking pictures. Whether it's of scenery, my friends or something I just wanted to save. I love having the memories to always look back on. I spend forever in my photos. I find it tiring when I settle into a constant routine. I dislike when things repeat yet I find it hard to accept great change. One important thing about me is family. I have my mother, father, grandmother and many cousins in my life. Some of my greatest joys in life are spending time with my family. Another thing that brings me joy is my academics. I put genuine effort into my schoolwork and activities that will further my academic success. I love my Puerto Rican heritage. I often spent summers with my hispanic family back on the island. I am still figuring things about myself. I find comfort in reflecting on the past and it motivates me to continue my future.
